Winter Vacation Offer: Overview

Items that you borrow will renew automatically every three weeks for 12 months, as long as they haven’t been reserved by another user. If an item has been reserved, this stops the automatic renewal, and you will need to arrange to return them, either using our bookdrop facility if you're in Durham or our free postal returns service. For more information, visit our Borrow from us guide.

If you have books you've finished with, please return them to the Library before you leave Durham. Our bookdrop facility next to the main entrance at Bill Bryson Library will be open throughout the Christmas period. 

You can contact our Virtual Enquiry Desk, Ask DULib, where Library staff will be available for live chat or to reply to messages and emails until 6pm on Thursday 22 December.

Many colleges have their own libraries, which are managed independently from the University’s main library. The college libraries provide study space as well as information resources, which can be found by searching our library catalogue, Discover.
