Our incredible resources offer you so much more than just books. The richness and range of our collections is outstanding. Our museums have objects from all over the world, dating from pre-history through to contemporary art; our archival material is important and significant in its own right and our modern collections are extensive.
Through our libraries you’ll find 1.6 million printed items, 850,000 eBooks and 25,000 eJournals.
Our Archives and Special Collections have over 70,000 books published before 1850, medieval manuscripts, maps, prints and photographs.
Our museums house over 82,000 objects and art works covering 250,000 years of history from 59 countries.
These are all active collections for teaching and research and offer you an opportunity to get hands-on experience, working directly with them, which helps make Durham special!
And of course, our wonderful staff are here to help you find and use all our collections.
