The focus is on British and European independent films, as well as international releases. We do not have access to the "rental" content and please note that BFI Player is not available outside of the UK due to licensing restrictions.

Kanopy is an on-demand streaming video service for educational institutions that works directly with filmmakers and film distribution companies. It provides access to more than 26,000 films and documentaries from a variety of independent filmmakers and distributors, across diverse subjects and disciplines. Collections include titles from the DEFA Film Library, ArtMattan Films, HBO, Frameline, Ruscico, Pragda, BBC, Flicker Alley, National Film Board of Canada, First Run Features, Cinema Libre Studio, New Day Films, and the Criterion Collection/Janus Films.
MediaPlus from Alexander Street is a service delivered to the UK higher and further education community in association with Jisc, bringing more than 100,000 videos, images, and sound recordings to your screen.
News on Screen documents almost 160,000 individual stories from twenty-two cinema newsreels and cinemagazines, 1910-1983. The data is based on the original newsreel issue sheets, and includes title, release date, issue number, library number, synopsis, length, camera operator and keywords.
