The Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC) opened in September 2019. It provides space for independent and group study, as well as lectures and teaching activity.
The Library Virtual Enquiry Desk is available if you require any support.
On Monday 13 June, there is an event taking place in the building which means some of the groups study spaces on the 2nd floor will not be available. All individual spaces remain available.

Using the TLC
Contact us through our enhanced virtual enquiry desk, Ask DULib. Search our FAQs, email us, or chat with a librarian.
Ask DULib is available to all students, staff and users.
University members and visitors are strongly recommended to wear face coverings in University buildings, including the Library, and when in crowded and enclosed spaces, especially where you come into contact with people you do not usually meet.
Please follow our current safety measures during your time in the building.
The Teaching and Learning Centre is along South Rd, opposite the Lower Mountjoy site. Use the postcode DH1 3LS if using a SatNav or GPS.
In the evening and weekends you will need your campus card to scan into the building.
There is no visitor car parking, except for disabled parking bays near the entrance. There are bike sheds available.
Access is on level ground via a power-assisted door. There are disabled parking bays near the main entrance.

We have a range of individual and group study spaces available on Level 2 of the Teaching and Learning Centre. From Monday 27 September, you won’t need to book a timeslot for study spaces for any of our sites. If you still wish to book a study space, we have a range of bookable study spaces available at Bill Bryson Library - visit our Study Spaces guide for more information.
The TLC has its own cafe called Zing - you can pop in to buy items or you can pre-order your items on a click and collect basis. Please see Zing webpages for current opening times.
This is a clean as you go area - please wipe down any surfaces before and after use, and place all rubbish in the bins provided.
